Staying Local And Once Again In Limbo!!!

So, last week I promised to blog about our village of Los Gigantes and stay more local.

Los Gigantes like many other tourist destinations continues to patiently wait for the arrival of the tourists and now that the UK government are lifting the need to quarantine we hope to get a little busier.

It does feel like the village is slowly coming back life and people are starting to visiting us. Los Gigantes is a great place for a day trip as well as a well earned holiday. There are plenty of places open and more places that have been closed due to Covid are also getting ready to open in anticipation of the holiday makers arriving.

As you walk along the harbour, most places are open and at some parts of the day you could be forgiven for thinking that there isn't a pandemic as there are plenty of people meandering about using the bars, restaurants and various shops.

If your looking to be entertained there are a few places that are putting entertainment on, whether it be live music, cabaret, quizzes, its all here and it can be easily found.
Sadly karaoke is still banned! Some folk might be glad that karaoke is off limits but it is a great outlet for many people and c'mon lets face it, who doesn't love a good sing song? Many of us, myself included, all have that one song that we sing at karaoke and even those that don't sing, still have songs that they love to hear and sing along to.

We have a quiz night at 60's Bar on Sunday evenings and on Friday evenings the guitar comes out along with the drums and Eddie and I entertain you, not a backing track in sight!

The Wine bar continues to have live music and cabaret afternoons along with their weekly quiz afternoon on Wednesdays, and Don Jose also puts on live entertainment on a regular basis. The main plaza in the village boasts two great eateries Jardin Del Sol and The Bouganville, whether you are looking for a coffee and tapas or a delicious evening meal. These are just a small selection of places that are all open in Los Gigantes, trust me, even in these weird times you are spoilt for choice!

Los Gigantes, really has something for everyone, so whether you just fancy visiting for the day or staying a little longer to really take in the vibe of the village, we really are a friendly bunch and we look forward to welcoming visitors both old and new!

As I write this blog our little island is once again in limbo as we are now facing the prospect of going in to level four of restrictions. This has not happened before in Tenerife and once again we wait with everything crossed and hope that we remain in level three. I am remaining positive and hoping that they leave us in level three. If we go to level 4 it means that we will have to close at 6PM, surely they wouldn't do that to us!!!! lets hope not or the cheese might really slip, it may even fall off!

until next time, stay safe as always

The hotel remains closed but here are signs that suggest they maybe getting ready to open
