Cabin Fever And The Lost Cheese!

People think that because we live on a small island just off Africa where the sun shines most of the time, that Lockdown and isolation has been a walk in the park for us. While it might have been for some folk, I have to admit that cabin fever is really starting to set in now.

I want to travel, I desperately want to see my family and we are all wondering how much longer that this **** can go on for.

We have our weekly routine and I count myself lucky in that I don´t really get that bored and can nearly always fond something to do to pass the time.

I think what I really need is a damn good gig, standing on stage, belting out some big songs and I'll probably be as right as rain. Its great therapy for blowing away the cobwebs.
When performing is all you have done and it is suddenly taken away from you, the feeling is just awful. Singing into a mobile phone is just not the same.

Its not just the standing on stage, its the whole package. I have a wardrobe full of posh frocks, most that haven't seen the light of day for well over a year. I've barely worn a pair of sky high heels in twelve months, although the first time I did after coming out of lockdown I almost went flying. Luckily Ed was there to break my fall.

Ed had his Covid jab last week. We had been told that it would be at 7PM last Thursday evening. We rearranged our plans around it only to be told a couple of days later that it would now be at 11AM. It was an easy process, all on time and no fuss. He was fine, although he did say he felt very tired and his arm ached the next day. We did joke that he could go on holiday now and that because I'm so much younger than him it would be quite some time before I could join him!!!

We were lucky to be able to hold a private party at the bar this weekend. Fortunately we remained in level three, we were worried we might have gone to level 4.

It was Matt's 30th birthday and although we couldn't provide any entertainment or karaoke everybody had a great time and it was a good atmosphere. Sadly everyone had to be gone by 10pm due to the curfew.

So, another week and we wait and see what they throw at us this week

Until next time, stay safe

H x

Please note, the 2nd photo is a throw back to when people were allowed in and we could have a whopping 10 people sat together!!!!

This ones a throw back from when we could have 10 to a table and we could be inside!!!

  2. Think we all feel the same as you Hollie and can't wait for things to be "normal" again.
Trouble is we are now in a rut because of not being allowed to do things we now don't want to 🙈
Caerphilly has been in one lockdown after another since about September so a long time and I'm missing my Shane so much.
Hopefully not to much longer and I can at least stalk Eddie and Steve on a sat morning lol.
Fingers crossed for travel allowance and Los Gigantes can start to rebuild.
    Take care x
